Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the Business Head and HR Head, help create a Learning & Development plan for the SW&C BU. This plan should support the overall strategic goals (Lakshya 2021) and the annual business plan.
  • The Scope of the L&D agenda includes Technical skills, Certifications, Professional and Leadership Skills, individual development plans and driving the 7-Step Leadership Development agenda of L&T.
  • Identify and assess training needs at the individual, project / functional level and at the organization level with inputs from Leadership, Line Managers, Business planning processes, the performance management process (FAIR) appraisals and other developmental inputs.
  • Facilitate the creation of an individualized Learning and Development plan for staff, leading into the annual L&D / Training Calendar programs for the BU
  • The annual L&D plan for the BU will leverage the training calendar offered by the training teams in Corporate HR, Divisional Corporate and external industry & academic bodies
  • Create an L&D budget based on the annual plan. Monitor costs and liaise with the Finance department to ensure control of Learning & Development expenditure within agreed budgets.
  • Communicate the L&D plan to staff in an effective manner and drive employee participation and active engagement in the learning agenda
  • Execute the L&D plan through a variety of methods including Instructor-Led-Training, On-The-Job training, eLearning (ATL), Seminars & Conferences, Virtual seminars, Development Centres, Coaching initiatives, etc.
  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
  • Create an effective induction and orientation process to integrate new employees into our organization.
  • Leverage the expertise and acumen available with the L&T organization by active engagement of expert talent and leadership in delivering training 
  • Continuously evolve the L&D agenda based on learnings, industry trends and best practices

Candidate Profile:

  • We are looking for a highly talented and qualified professional who has a domain expertise in HR and Learning & Development with the following criteria.
  • A  Master’s degree in Human Resources from an accredited university with a good academic track record
  • At least 10 years of experience in HR / L&D, working with reputed organizations with a National / International presence, preferably in the Technology / Telecom / Engineering sectors. 
  • Should have been in a managerial role for at least 3 years
  • Strong results orientation
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Preferably, should have worked in 2-3 locations across the country to develop an understanding of cultural and business diversity
  • Stability in career is mandatory
  • Emotional resilience. Energy, enthusiasm and confidence.
  • A willingness to work flexibly and travel as and when required.
